Fifty strains of Staphylococcus spp. isolated from bovine mastitis cases in several herds from different Argentinian provinces were screened for antimicrobial substances. Twelve strains exhibited a high antagonistic activity against the indicator strain (Corynebacterium fimi) and were chosen for further characterisation.
