OBJECTIVE: Neonatal screening for congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) among preterm infants is complicated by the fact that healthy preterm infants have higher levels of 17-hydroxyprogesterone (17-OHP) than term infants, resulting in a higher false-positive rate.
