Pulmonary veins (PVs) are the target of ablation procedures to cure paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF). There are few anatomic and histological studies of PVs. Sixteen human hearts were obtained from autopsies performed at our hospital and cadavers from a local medical school.
