The gene-gene interactions between markers in the alpha2-, beta2-, and beta3-adrenergic receptor (ADR) genes and obesity-related phenotypes were studied in the Quebec Family Study (QFS) cohort. The prevalence of the Arg allele of the Arg16Gly polymorphism in the beta2-ADR gene was higher (49%) in males with a body mass index (BMI) of 35 kg/m2 or higher versus those with a BMI less than 35 kg/m2 (33%; P = .010)....
