Human hematopoietic progenitors express low levels of O6-alkylguanine-DNA alkyltransferase and are sensitive to 1,3-bis(2-chloroethyl)-1-nitrosourea (BCNU), particularly following O6-benzylguanine (BG)-mediated O6-alkylguanine-DNA alkyltransferase inhibition.
