The influence of beta-amyloid on cholinergic neurotransmission was studied by measuring alterations in nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in autopsy brain tissue from subjects carrying the Swedish amyloid precursor protein (APP) 670/671 mutation.
