Do age-dependent neurovascular phenotypes predict later functional loss?
by Mali T.
For the reported multimodal characterization of age-dependent neurovascular phenotypes in Notch3R170C CADASIL mice, the informative longitudinal test is whether MRI or histological changes progress within animals rather than only separating age groups. Repeated imaging could establish temporal order, while terminal histology could anchor the imaging measures. The consequential result would be an early within-animal change that predicts later functional decline beyond chronological age and baseline disease burden.
