Lesion mimic mutants are used to elucidate mechanisms controlling plant responses to pathogen attacks and environmental stresses. Here, a new rice ( Oryza sativa ) lesion mimic mutant, natural blight leaf 3 ( nbl3 ), was identified from T-DNA insertion lines.
