Walnut (Juglans regia) can be affected by several diseases. Among them, walnut blight (WB) which is caused by the bacterium Xanthomonas arboricola pv. juglandis (Xaj) and brown apical necrosis (BAN) which has lately become economically significant causing crop losses in recent years.
