<h4>BACKGROUND</h4> The planthopper Pentastiridius leporinus (Hemiptera: Cixiidae) is the main vector of the γ-3 proteobacterium ‘ Candidatus Arsenophonus phytopathogenicus’ which causes the syndrome “basses richesses” (SBR) in sugar beet.
