Wheat dwarf virus (WDV) causes disease in wheat (Triticum aestivum) and barley (Hordeum vulgare) in many parts of Europe. The host range also includes many species of the family Poaceae. WDV is only transmitted by the leafhopper Psammotettix alienus.
