Mucuna pruriens (L.) is an important underutilized legume medicinal plant. It is an herbaceous annual twining climber. Its seeds are used to extract the L-Dopa (L-3, 4-dihydroxyphenylalanine) to the preparation of the drugs and are used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
