Recently, diseases of koi carp Cyprinus carpio var. koi have resulted in the mass mortality of stock at a koi carp breeding farm in Tianjin. The diseased fish exhibited obvious symptoms including skin ulceration, hemorrhages on body surface, and abdominal and intestinal dropsy.
