A coral-associated bacterium was successfully screened for secondary metabolite production based on biological activity and PCR amplification of the non-ribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) gene and was identified as closely related to Pseudoatteromonas tuteoviotacea based on its 16S rDNA.
