<title>Abstract</title> <p>Strain SZY PN-1<sup>T</sup>, representing a novel Gram-negative, aerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped and yellow-pigmented bacterium, was isolated from a skin sample of a healthy Chinese people. Growth of SZY PN-1<sup>T</sup> optimally occurred at pH 7.0, at 30 ºC and tolerate up to 1.0 % (w/v) NaCl. According to the absorption spectrum, carotenoid was present in the cells.
