Abstract From the cultures of Photobacterium damselae subsp. piscicida , the aetiological agent of fish pasteurellosis, a new siderophore named piscibactin ( 1 ), was isolated as its gallium and iron(III) complexes along with a possible intermediate of its biosynthesis, prepiscibactin ( 2 ).
