The gram-positive and spore-forming bacterium Brevibacillus laterosporus ( Bl ) belongs to the Brevibacillus brevis phylogenetic cluster. Isolates of the species have demonstrated pesticidal potency against a wide range of invertebrate pests and plant diseases.
