Abstract Nocardia seriolae, a gram‐positive branching filamentous bacterium, is the causative agent of fish nocardiosis. It mainly infects fish through gills, anus, lateral line or surface injury, resulting in a large number of white nodules in visceral organs and skin ulcerations.
