Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) from plant seeds, known to inhibit pathogen growth have a great potential in developing transgenic plants resistant to disease. Some of the nonspecific-lipid transfer proteins (ns-LTP) that facilitate in vitro transport of lipids, show antimicrobial activity in vitro.
