In January 2018, in the region of Jaboticabal, São Paulo (21°14′34.7″S, 48°16′53.7″W), plants of yellow dragon fruit, Hylocereus megalanthus, a perennial exotic fruit from the Cactaceae family, which is very important for Brazilian fruit production, presented symptoms of rickets, with chlorotic and thin branches and no fruit.
