In coastal California, fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) is a specialty vegetable crop that is rotated with the extensive lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) acreage. In Monterey County in June 2023, 2-month-old transplanted fennel developed a soilborne disease. Chlorotic and stunted plants appeared in patches, and disease incidence was <1%. Lower leaves dried up.
