Obesity is a key risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). The aim of this PhD study was to investigate the associations of obesity and adiposity with carotid atherosclerosis, and, in particular, to examine the effect of general vs abdominal adiposity on the burden of carotid plaque.
