Cupuassu ( Theobroma grandiflorum) is a fruit tree native to the Brazilian Amazon, increasingly integrated into regional bioeconomies. Its cultivation is severely threatened by the witches’ broom disease (WBD), caused by Moniliophthora perniciosa.
