<title>Abstract</title> <p><bold>Background: </bold>Pseudocowpox virus (PCPV) of the genus <italic>Parapoxvirus</italic> in the family <italic>Poxviridae </italic>causes pseudocowpox in cattle worldwide and presents a zoonotic concern.
