<title>Abstract</title> <p><bold>Purpose</bold> The fabella is a sesamoid bone located posterior to the lateral femoral epicondyle within the gastrocnemius muscle. While commonly present in mammals, its prevalence in humans remains unclear, with reported rates ranging from 3% to 87%.
