Golden dewdrop (Duranta erecta L.; family Verbenaceae) is an ornamental plant that is commonly grown as a garden hedge in Pakistan. In May 2018, begomovirus-like symptoms of severe leaf curling and yellow mosaic were observed on D. erecta plants grown in the vicinity of Kohat University (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan) with a disease incidence of approximately 20%.
