<h4>Background: </h4> The incidence of ventilator-associated pneumonia caused by Stenotrophomonas maltophilia (SM-VAP) is on the rise. This pathology is associated with increased morbidity and mortality in intensive care unit (ICU), notably due to intrinsic resistance and ineffective probabilistic antibiotic therapy.
