Resistance gene homologues were isolated from finger millet (Eleusine coracana L.) using degenerate oligonucleotide primers designed to the conserved regions of the nucleotide binding site (NBS) of previously cloned plant disease resistance genes (R-genes) using polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
