Paramyxoviruses, negative-sense single-stranded RNA viruses, pose a potential threat to public health. Currently, 78 species and 17 genera of paramyxoviruses are classified and harbored by multiple natural reservoirs, including rodents, bats, birds, reptiles, and fish.
