Ol, a chemically induced, incompletely dominant mutation, greatly increases oleic acid and is correlated with greatly reduced expression of a seed-specific oleoyl-phosphatidyl choline desaturase (FAD2-1) in developing seeds of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.).
