Lotus, Nelumbo nucifera, is an ornamental and edible plant widely cultivated in Southern China. Its seeds can be processed for use in food and beverages. During September 2017, the first sign of infected leaves was observed in Guangchang City of Jiangxi Province, affecting 5 to 20% of 7,500 ha of lotus.
