A Gram-positive and anaerobic bacterium was isolated from the stool sample of a healthy French volunteer. A taxonogenomics approach was adopted to characterize it. Cells are rod shaped non-spore-forming and non-motile. Growth of strain Marseille-P3740 occurs at 37°C in anaerobic atmosphere at pH 7.
