A new strain of Capsicum chlorosis virus (CaCV) from peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) in China, designated CaCV-CP, was characterized. CaCV-CP causes yellow spots and necrosis on the leaves of affected peanut plants. Of 31 plant species inoculated mechanically, 24 were susceptible to this strain.
