The effect of rhizobacterium Burkholderia sp. strain R456 on the inhibition of Rhizoctonia solani, sheath blight of rice was examined. Results from this study indicated that strain R456 not only suppressed the in vitro mycelial growth of R. solani, but also reduced the incidence and severity of rice sheath blight under greenhouse conditions.
