A phytoplasma infecting alfalfa crops was detected and characterised in Argentina, the Argentinean Alfalfa witches′-broom (ArAWB) phytoplasma. Typical witches′-broom symptoms were observed in diseased alfalfa plants from fields of the ‘Cuyo’ region in the Andean midwest.
