Nsa cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) is a novel Brassica napus male sterility system derived from Sinapis arvensis cytoplasm. Nsa CMS results in defective pollen production due to S. arvensis mitochondrial gene failure/incompatibility in the anthers, requiring nuclear genes to restore fertility.
