<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Coprolites are sources of ancient human gut microbiota and parasites. Paleomicrobiological investigation of a 14 th -century coprolite revealed amoeba cysts that when cultured were identified as Acanthamoeba castellanii strain Namur.
