Host-plant resistance is known to reduce fungal growth of Phakospora pachyrhizi Syd. & P. Syd., the causal agent of soybean rust (SBR) in soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.). This disease has been shown to reduce soybean leaf photosynthesis in susceptible soybean plants.
