Groundnut plants with symptoms of rosette disease contain groundnut rosette virus (GRV), but GRV is transmitted by Aphis craccivora only from plants that also contain groundnut rosette assistor virus (GRAV). Two main forms of rosette disease are recognised, 'chlorotic rosette' and 'green rosette'.
