Persimmon (Diospyros kaki Thunb.) is native to China and is grown widely. D. kaki cv. Jinpingshi is an astringent persimmon, which originated in Shandong, China, and grows well in Shandong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shaanxi, and Henan provinces.
