<h4>Background: </h4> Rhipicephalus microplus (Ixodida: Ixodidae, Canestrini, 1888) is a tick that causes great economic and health losses related to the cattle industry and is the main vector of Babesia bigemina (Piroplasmidae: Babesidae, Smith & Kilborne, 1893).
