Cassava bacterial blight (CBB), which is a vascular disease caused by Xanthomonas phaseoli pv. manihotis (Xpm), previously known as Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. manihotis, poses a major threat to cassava (Manihot esculenta) production worldwide.
