Bacterial strain Pseudomonas sp. strain ADP is capable of metabolizing atrazine, a synthetic herbicide, and uses atrazine as a sole nitrogen source for growth. The microbe completely mineralizes the substrate in a catabolic pathway comprised of six enzymatic steps.
