In July 2016 and August 2017, there were two severe outbreaks of serious skin ulcers in rockfish (Sebastes schlegeli), which were cultured in offshore net-cages around Daqing Island, China. One pathogenic bacterium was isolated from the skin lesions of diseased fish.
