Caries frequencies in South African fossil hominins were observed and compared with other hominin samples. Species studied include Paranthropus robustus , Homo naledi , Australopithecus africanus , early Homo and A. sediba . Teeth were viewed macroscopically with Micro-CT scans used to confirm lesions.
