Two short tandem repeat (STR) systems, HumTPO and HumLPL, were investigated in 218 unrelated Japanese living in Gunma and Fukui Prefectures by means of discontinuous, horizontal polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and silver staining. Five and six alleles were identified at the HumTPO and HumLPL loci, respectively. No deviations from the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium or differences in genotype frequency were found...
