To overcome limitations in the morphological identification of different developmental stages of hookworms to species, we have established a polymerase chain reaction-linked single strand conformation polymorphism technique (PCR-SSCP) utilizing the internal transcribed spacers (ITS) of ribosomal (r)DNA.
