Molecular markers revealed that Botryotinia fuckeliana (the teleomorph of Botrytis cinerea), a haploid, filamentous, heterothallic ascomycete, contained a large amount of intrapopulation genetic variation. The markers were used to determine the mode of reproduction and the population structure of this fungus.
