A slowly growing anaerobic Helicobacter species was isolated from the blood cultures of two human immunodeficiency virus-positive patients admitted to Westmead Hospital, Westmead, Australia, with fevers. The morphology of the isolates was consistent with Helicobacter cinaedi or Helicobacter fennelliae.
