After treatment of the DNA by HPD and light the number of transformants of the M13mp8 DNA obviously decreased during the period of transforming the treated DNA into E coli. Meanwhile some of the mutation sequences appeared in the DNA which recovered from the DNA/HPD/Light transformant. It showed that the wrong replication happened because of the mutated template.
